On Thursday November 1st at midday John will be giving a talk on the piano music of John Ireland at the Royal College of Music. The event is part of a study day in which the vocal music will also be examined in detail. More details available from the College.
This new ensemble with John Lenehan as pianist can be heard in Blackheath Concert Halls on Sunday 21st October at 11.00. They will be playing the following Programme:
MOZART Trio for Clarinet, Viola and Piano K. 498 (Kegelstadt)
STANFORD – Piano Quartet No.2 in C minor Op.133
BRAHMS – Piano Quartet in G minor, Op.25

On September 24th, the same day as John Lenehan was performing for the BBC live from the Wigmore Hall, virtuoso accordionist ksenija sidorova was in Cardiff recording his new arrangement of “Libertango” by Piazzolla. Thomas Gould joined her for “Oblivion” in its new guise as a duet for accordion and violin. Both works were accompanied by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales conducted by Clark Rundell. The recording will be issued by Champs Hill Records next year. Ksenija was also seen recently on the Classic Brit Awards ceremony performing with the guitarist Miloš and was featured on Nicola Bennedetti’s “Silver Violin” album in John’s arrangement of “Por una Cabessa” by Gardel.
